A ridge extends over the south Queensland waters. A weak trough will cross the south Queensland waters on Friday night and Saturday morning, followed by a new ridge. The ridge will strengthen slightly on Sunday as a high moves near Tasmania. A low will develop near New Zealand on Sunday and combine with the high to increase winds and waves.
