Weather Situation

A high [1044 hPa] will persist in the Great Australian Bight for the next two days, extending a ridge over the south Queensland waters. A trough will cross the southeast waters today, with a new ridge extending over the south Queensland waters in the wake of the trough. A low [1010 hPa] in the Tasman Sea is combining with the high to enhance winds over the southeast waters today. The low will move east on Monday, while a southeasterly wind surge continues to move north along the east coast. The surge will move out of the south Queensland waters on Tuesday as the high moves across southeastern Australia.
