A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will continue to extend a ridge over Victoria ahead of a trough over parts of the west and south. This trough will remain relatively stationary over the state until a cold front enters from the west late Friday. This front will move across Victoria on Saturday then a ridge of high pressure will follow in its wake.
