A large high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is responsible for northerly winds across Victoria. A weak front will move across the state later today. A ridge of high pressure will become established over the north with further weak features passing to the south in a broad westerly flow. A high pressure system is expected to be centred over the state on the weekend.
