A high pressure system to the south of the state is directing easterlies along coastal waters, with local sea breezes about local waters. Flow tends northerly late Monday ahead of a trough that is forecast to move over waters on Tuesday, with a broad westerly flow persisting on Wednesday, ahead of cold front moving into Bass Strait later Wednesday. The front moves over Bass Strait as a ridge of high pressure moves into the west on Thursday.
