- A high pressure system over the southern Tasman sea extends a broad ridge west over Bass Strait to direct an easterly flow over Bass Strait during the early morning. A low pressure system and associated cold front crosses the Bight to reach the Bays late this afternoon and early evening before clearing eastern coastal waters early Friday. The next high pressure system will develop south of the Bight in the wake of the front on Friday directing a southwesterly flow over the Bays during the weekend.
