The ridge is forecast to linger on Monday as the high centre moves east, expected out to the Tasman Sea by Tuesday. A trough is forecast to develop in the northwest by late Tuesday, expected to extend over central and eastern districts on Wednesday, ahead of a new high pressure ridge moving in from the west.
