A strong ridge of high pressure extends across southern Victoria, expected to strengthen with a south to southwesterly flow to extend across the entire state today. The ridge is forecast to linger on Monday as the high centre moves east, expected out to the Tasman Sea by Tuesday. A trough is forecast to develop in the northwest by late Tuesday, expected to extend over central and eastern districts on Wednesday, ahead of a new high pressure ridge moving in from the west.
