A series of troughs, connected to a low forecast to deepen off the southern New South Wales coast, will cross southern Queensland waters during Thursday increasing southwesterly winds. A ridge will strengthen in the wake of these troughs as a large high [1035 hPa] to the south of Australia moves slowly east.
