A ridge persists over the south Queensland waters. Ex-Tropical Cyclone Vaianu [977 hPa] will move south over New Zealand over the next few days generating long period swell over the southeast waters. A trough will cross the south Queensland waters on Sunday, with a new ridge behind the trough.
