A large high pressure system drifting slowly east across southern Australia will maintain a ridge over the South Queensland waters for the next few days. A trough crossing southern Queensland will move across the southern Queensland waters overnight into Sunday. Another trough may start to form near the southern Queensland or northern New South Wales coast from Tuesday.
