A ridge extends across southern Queensland waters from a high [1028 hPa] centred near New Zealand. The ridge will weaken over the coming days as a trough slowly crosses interior Queensland, reaching the coast on Thursday. A secondary trough is forecast to cross the coast in its wake on Friday.
