Wind: Easterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore north of Maroochydore early in the morning.

Caution: Large and powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.

Weather Situation: A ridge extends across southern Queensland waters from a high [1028 hPa] centred near New Zealand. The ridge will weaken over the coming days as a trough slowly crosses interior Queensland, reaching the coast on Thursday. A secondary trough is forecast to cross the coast in its wake on Friday.
