A weak ridge of high pressure will persist over the northern Queensland Waters for the next few days as a high [1026 hPa] over southeastern Australia shifts east into the Tasman Sea. A southeasterly wind surge located around the Mackay Coast will shift slowly northwards today, weakening out on Saturday.
