A weakening ridge extends over the northern Queensland waters from a high [1038 hPa] near New Zealand. A trough and southerly change will push east across waters south of Cairns during Tuesday. A firm ridge will extend across northern Queensland in the wake of the trough during Wednesday as a new high [1027 hPa] moves east across southern Australia.
