Weather Situation

A weak equatorial trough extends over the northern Coral Sea. The trough will drift south and slowly deepen for the next several days. A ridge will be maintained over the remaining north Queensland waters as a high [1017 hPa] in the Tasman Sea moves east over the next few days. The ridge is combining with the trough to enhance onshore winds. The ridge and onshore winds will weaken on Wednesday and Thursday as the high moves away. A tropical low is likely to develop within the trough from Thursday.
