A trough will move north across northern Queensland waters over the next few days, with a ridge of high pressure and southeasterly winds developing in the wake of the trough. The ridge of high pressure will strengthen throughout the week as a high [1027 hPa] over the Great Australian Bight moves east across the Tasman Sea.
