A weak ridge extends across northern Queensland waters from a high [1030 hPa] centred near New Zealand. A weak pressure pattern and light winds will develop from today as the ridge weakens. A trough and southwesterly winds change situated in the interior is forecast to cross waters south of Innisfail on Thursday, with a ridge developing behind it.
