A weak pressure gradient extends over the north Queensland waters. A high south of the Bight will extend a ridge over the north Queensland waters on Tuesday as it moves eastward, accompanying a surge in southeasterly winds. The ridge will be maintained the next few days as the high enters and crosses the Tasman Sea.
