A firm ridge extends over the southern Queensland waters from a large high [1040 hPa] near Zealand. The ridge will weakening over the coming days as the high slowly moves eastwards. A trough may form near the northern New South Wales or far southeastern Queensland coast later in the weekend or early next week.
