Weather Situation
A weak trough extends east across the Peninsula and Cooktown waters, with westerly winds to the north of the trough and southeasterly winds to the south. The trough will remain weak but in place over coming days. A ridge of high pressure will strengthen along the coast south of Townsville from Tuesday as a high begins to move east across the Tasman Sea.
