A deep low [985 hPa] slowly crossing Tasmania will move into the Tasman Sea on Thursday, with a weak ridge sitting across northern Queensland. A weak trough connected to this low will cross the south Queensland waters on Wednesday night. The low is forecast to move towards New Zealand at the end of the week, with a new ridge to extend over south Queensland waters in its wake on the weekend.
