A ridge extends to the north of the south Queensland waters from a high that will cross southern Queensland waters into this weekend. A vigorous coastal low is present off the New South Wales coast, and will move offshore into the Tasman Sea on Thursday. Between the ridge and the low, fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds will persist across south Queensland waters during Wednesday and Thursday.
