Weather Situation

A high [1045 hPa] will persist in the Southern Ocean or Great Australian Bight for a few days, extending a ridge over the south Queensland waters. A trough will cross the southeast waters on Sunday, with a new ridge extending over the south Queensland waters in the wake of the trough. On Sunday a low in the Tasman Sea will combine with the high to enhance winds over the southeast waters. The low will move east on Monday, while a southeasterly wind surge continues to move north along the east coast. The surge will move out of the south Queensland waters on Tuesday as the high moves across southeastern Australia.
