Weather Situation

A trough extends over the Peninsula waters and will develop into the monsoon trough while pushing south into the Cooktown waters from Sunday. Tropical low 29U may develop over the norther Coral Sea next week. A ridge and southeasterly wind surge extends over the waters south of Bowen, and will push north over Townsville waters during Sunday.
