- The monsoon trough extends over the Cooktown waters and east into the Coral Sea. Tropical low 29U [1002 hPa] is situated on the monsoon trough over the northern Coral Sea. The longer term movement and development of 29U remains uncertain, but is expected to move southwest towards the Queensland coast later this week. A firm ridge and southeasterly wind surge extends over the waters south of the monsoon trough.
