Weather Situation

A high over New South Wales extends a ridge over the north Queensland waters, gradually weakening. Severe Tropical Cyclone Maila [974 hPa] in the Solomon Sea is forecast to meander in the area over the next few days and start moving southwestwards from mid-week, approaching Far North Queensland into the weekend.
