A weak pressure gradient persists over the Gulf Waters. A trough in the Coral Sea will extend into the northeastern Gulf in the coming days. Tropical low 34U [1006 hPa] in the far northeastern Coral Sea is forecast to move westward over the next few days and cross Cape York Peninsula later this week and the Gulf waters over the weekend.
