A ridge extends over the north Queensland waters. A low [1003 hPa] (ex-Tropical Cyclone Maila) will cross the Peninsula and Cooktown waters on Tuesday, moving over land on Wednesday. A new ridge will extend over the north Queensland waters on Wednesday.
