A weak ridge extends over the north Queensland waters from a weakening high [1015 hPa] moving eastwards across the Coral Sea. A weak trough will cross the Mackay and Townsville waters early on Thursday, with a new ridge developing in its wake as a high crosses the Great Australian Bight.
