A high [1042 hPa] in the Great Australian Bight extends a ridge over the south Queensland waters. A low [1004 hPa] in the Tasman Sea is combining with the high to push a southeasterly wind surge north along the east coast. The low will move east on Monday, and the surge will move out of the south Queensland waters by Tuesday. The high will move across southeastern Australia on Tuesday and into the southern Coral Sea or northern Tasman Sea on Wednesday, maintaining the ridge.
