A ridge extends over southern Queensland waters from a high [1037 hPa] moving east across the Southern Ocean. A trough will develop offshore the Central Queensland coast late Friday, and rapidly deepen during Saturday while moving east away from the coast. The trough will create a squeeze with the high pressure system to the south, leading to windy conditions and rough seas across southern Queensland waters. This squeeze will relax slowly from Sunday as the trough moves away to the east.
