A ridge through the Gulf of Carpentaria will continue to strengthen on Wednesday and bring moderate east to northeasterly winds to coastal waters, weakening over the weekend. A trough in the Arafura Sea will shift northwards on Wednesday as the ridge strengthens, remaining north of the coastal waters for the remainder of the week.
