- A ridge extends across the NT from a high [1029 hPa] over the Great Australian Bight, resulting in an increase in southeasterly winds over the Gulf of Carpentaria and Arafura Sea, extending over the remaining coastal waters today. Winds will start to ease from Sunday as the high moves east and the ridge weakens. From Monday, the ridge will extend over northeastern Australia.
