Weather Situation

A high passing to the south of the state extends a ridge in the wake of a trough, bringing a surge of fresh southerly winds along the coast. Winds will gradually turn easterly today, then northeasterly during the weekend through early next week, as the high enters the Tasman Sea and maintains a ridge across the coastal waters.
