Fresh to strong west to northwesterly winds tend southwesterly from the evening as a a weakening cold front moves across the coastal waters. A high pressure system over the Bight will then drift towards Tasmania while a low develops near New Zealand, bringing fresh to strong southerly winds and large, powerful waves to the coastal areas over the weekend and into early next week.
