North to northwesterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore during the morning. Winds tending north to northeasterly in the middle of the day then becoming variable below 10 knots in the late evening.

East to northeasterly around 1 metre inshore, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore south of Coffs Harbour.

Weather Situation

A trough lies over the northern coastal waters, while a weak ridge of high pressure extends over the remainder of the coast. From late today, the next cold front will cross the south coast, bringing a strong and gusty southerly change along the southern coastal waters, reaching the northern coast and weakening during early Wednesday. This is expected to be followed by a broad ridge over the state while a low over the Tasman Sea deepens later this week.
