A firm ridge of high pressure extending over southern WA will gradually weaken today, contracting to the south coast on Wednesday and moving away. Meanwhile, a trough located offshore is deepening associated with a low pressure system. The trough and low pressure system will move across the west coast later Wednesday and further inland on Thursday.
