- A strong cold front over western Bass Strait will cross Port Phillip and Western Port tonight, with a vigorous westerly airstream to follow. Another front will cross Bass Strait on Wednesday morning with winds turning southwesterly. Winds will moderate during Thursday as a high pressure system near the Bight approaches western Victoria and extends a ridge across the State. The high will remain to the west on Friday, with a weak cold front forecast to approach from the southwest on Saturday.
