A high pressure system to the northeast that extends a ridge over the state will be slowly weakening and drifting eastwards during today. A vigorous cold front will begin to approach from the west on Sunday, reaching central districts during the evening. This front is expected to develop a low pressure system that will move through Bass Strait on Monday morning, drawing a trough over the state. A second cold front is expected to follow this low, crossing Victoria on Tuesday.
