- A large high pressure system centred over the Tasman Sea drifts slowly away to the southeast today. A slow-moving trough moving over South Australia will gradually move across Victoria over the weekend. A new ridge extends over northern Victoria behind the trough, and is expected to dominate conditions for much of next week, although a weak cold front will cross Bass Strait on Monday or Tuesday.
