A low pressure system in the western Tasman Sea will continue moving east. A new weak trough will skim the south later today before a ridge of high pressure develops over the state on Saturday. This ridge will persist over Victoria on the long weekend as the high pressure centre moves to the north and Sunday and then into the Tasman by Monday.
