Weather Situation

A high pressure system well to the west of the state directs a cool south to southwesterly flow across Victoria. The high centre is expected to move eastwards over Tasmania during Friday gradually easing and turning the flow south to southeasterly over Victoria, before the flow is expected to further shift easterly by Saturday as the high is expected to slip to the south of Tasmania over the weekend. A low pressure trough over South Australia is forecast to approach western Victoria late Saturday and slowly move over Victoria into Sunday, clearing to the east by Monday with a return to easterly flow as the high lies to the southeast of Tasmania. A secondary trough is forecast to move over the west later on Monday.
