A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge over Victoria. A trough is expected to sweep across the state from the west during Wednesday, with a ridge of high pressure to follow behind. The ridge is expected to persist on Thursday and Friday, until a broad trough moves over the state from the north on Saturday.
