- A high pressure system in the Bight extends a ridge across the state today bringing south to westerly flow. On Tuesday the high centre moves eastwards and is expected to be over the Tasman Sea by the evening. A trough is forecast to develop in the northwest by late Tuesday, expected to extend over central and eastern districts on Wednesday. A new high pressure ridge is expected to move in from the west late Wednesday, persisting into Thursday.
