- A high pressure ridge over southern Victoria will persist today. A high pressure system south of the Bight will approach Tasmania on Saturday causing southerly winds to freshen across Victorian coastal waters. The high will then pass to the south of Tasmania on Sunday with winds turning easterly across Bass Strait. A low pressure trough over central Victoria will extend south over Bass Strait on Monday as a high pressure system approaches from the west.
