Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of Tasmania extends a ridge towards western coastal waters, while a deep low pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea, resulting in a southerly flow over Victorian waters. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the low in the Tasman Sea weakens, allowing the ridge to move through Bass Strait. Windflow tends northerly from Wednesday ahead of another low pressure system and cold front approaching from the Bight. This second low is forecast to weaken as it moves over Victoria during Thursday.
