A ridge of high pressure extends across Victoria from the west this evening, persisting during Wednesday as the high centre moves eastwards across Tasmania on Thursday. A trough extends from NSW into the northeast of Victoria at times during Wednesday and Thursday, before a more significant trough is forecast to move across the far west on Friday then over the remainder of the state on Saturday.
