Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is directing a warm northerly airstream over Victoria as a low pressure trough approaches from the west. The trough is forecast to cross Victoria on Friday as a band of mid-level cloud crosses the Bight. The cloudband is expected to cross Victoria on Saturday as a strong high pressure system crosses the Southern Ocean. During Sunday the high is forecast to approach Tasmania with a ridge extending across Bass Strait. The high is then expected to move over the Tasman Sea on Monday with winds tending warmer northeasterly over Victoria.
