A large high pressure system centred over the Tasman Sea is responsible for northerly winds across Victoria. A weak front will move across the state on Wednesday followed by a trough on Thursday. A ridge of high pressure will become established over the north on Friday and over the weekend and a couple of weak troughs will pass to the south in a broad westerly flow.
