A low pressure system lies over eastern Victoria and Bass Strait and is expected to deepen as it moves southeast into the Tasman Sea by late Sunday. A high pressure ridge then builds across Victoria and Bass Strait during Monday. A weak cold front crosses Bass Strait during late Monday and early Tuesday with the ridge re-establishing itself over Bass Strait from Tuesday to Thursday.
