A high pressure system lies over Tasmania and moves east into the Tasman Sea during Monday. A trough and associated cold front crosses Bass Strait on Monday. The front will cross western coastal waters Monday afternoon, central coastal waters late Monday afternoon and evening and clear eastern coastal waters by early Tuesday. Another ridge of high pressure then builds over Bass Strait from Tuesday.
