- A high pressure system east of Tasmania directs an easterly flow over Bass Strait. The high moves into the Tasman Sea during Sunday, turning winds northeasterly. A weak cold front is expected to cross Bass Strait from late Monday into Tuesday, ahead of the next high pressure system in the eastern Bight. This weak high pressure system crosses Victoria on Wednesday.
